A-G Sod Farms – Stockton had the unique opportunity to work on the Capitol Mall revitalization project in Sacramento, CA. With the picturesque capitol building in the background, the central lawn was transformed with new, healthy natural grass provided by our Stockton farm.
The Capitol Mall is a landscaped parkway in California’s state capitol, leading straight to the capitol building. Along the parkway are several landmarks and a weekly farmers market which bring foot traffic along the lawn. After years of traffic, the lawn needed refreshing.
The Downtown Sacramento Partnership and the City of Sacramento came together to bring life back to this busy area. The sod installation spanned 83,000 sq. ft. ElitePlus Fescue Bluegrass Blend grown at our Stockton farm was the perfect choice for this project. This cool-season, drought-tolerant turfgrass has a year-round dark green color. And using A-G Sod’s Big Roll cut, installers were able to cut installation time which was essential to minimizing any disruption to this bustling area.
In just two days the lawn was replaced giving the area a much-needed face lift. A-G Sod sales representative Chris Burger oversaw the project and noted that many locals shared their excitement in having a beautiful area to continue their morning exercises and enjoy walking their dogs.
