Elite Plus Fescue
Our most popular cool-season turfgrass is a blend of improved fescue and bluegrass which has year-round dark green color. The “Plus” is that it will gradually repair minor damage over time without the need for reseeding.
Tifway Hybrid Bermuda
A versatile hybrid Bermuda which tolerates close mowing and is disease resistant. It spreads rapidly to provide a dense turf which is wear tolerant and heals quickly.
- In the spring, fertilize Elite Plus Fescue, Hybrid Bermuda and St. Augustine every 8 weeks with an all-purpose fertilizer such as a 21-7-14 blend available at your local garden center.
- Apply a pre-emergent for grassy and broadleaf weeds in the late winter or early spring.
- For broadleaf weeds that have already appeared in your lawn, apply a contact broadleaf herbicide as needed.
- Spring is a good time to do a thorough inspection and audit of your irrigation system before the hot summer months place extra stress on your plant material (see the Water Wisely section of this website for procedures).
